I am the youngest of many children, when I got into an argument with one of my brothers the whole family knew it. Everyone fights with a sibling, specially when you spend everyday with them.
Now I love my older brother and respect him, but on one occasion we got into it in the dugout. He was a player manager and we got into a dispute over something stupid. We made up and moved on, so you guys really think that Joba and Mo who is a classy dude hate each other? Do you really want the Yankees to trade Joba since he is on his walk year?
The answer is and always will be no. I turn on the Television and read the paper as well as online and everyone is upset over shush gate. Mike and Mike where upset Mike Francesca was upset, Michael Kay and almost all the beat writers lost it.
This is the same Mike Greenberg that yelled at Rob Parker and dude was so upset he walked out of the set (guest cohost that day).
This is the same Mike Francesca that reportedly told the angry puppy that he would never speak to him again. Or Michael Kay who spends all day chastising and yelling at his callers while getting into twitter war of words.
Lets all take a deep breath and calm down. These men know that family members get into stupid fights. GET OVER IT
Joba is not the best relief pitcher and he might have been mis handled by Torre but he is our guy and I'm sticking up for him. So let all you that have not sinned and pissed off your brother, remember we are not as perfect as you.
So if I can give Mike and Mike, Mike Francesca and Michael Kay the "just shut up blog award" I would.

If you told me at the beginning of spring training that on April 29th, Jeter, Tex, Arod, Granderson, Nova, and Cervelli were all going to be on the DL and the team would still be 15-9, 2.5 games out of first place, I would have said you were crazy.
Despite the fact that they started 1-4 and and the infield on the DL, the Yankees have made even the most optimistic fan (ME) a believer. Remember I picked them to win the AL unlike the "experts" on the four letter network.
This team is different, this team is special, they will play all 27 outs, all nine innings and at the end of the day leave it all on the field. So for every member of the Media that picked the Yankees to finish last you aint seen nothing yet.
Wait until Alex, Granderson, Nova, Tex, Cervelli and the Captain comeback the team will be complete. Its a all long season people, 162 games and the Division will not be won in April but we know that it can be lost in April.

2013 Yankees Preview

It has been 5 months since the Yankees were defeated by the Tigers in the playoffs. It was bitter sweet as the 2012 team won the Division and then made the playoffs beating the Orioles in a great series. But once Jeter went down, you knew it was not going to be the Yankees year.
All the pundits and experts are telling us this is 1965 or 1984, that this is the year the age will catch up with the Yankees. No one expected the Mash unit or the fact that 120 million dollars are on the shelf to begin the year, even our beloved Brian Cashman has a cast, breaking his foot while on a free fall after jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
Gone is Curtis Granderson, Alex Rodriguez, Tex, "the franchise" Phil Hughes, and the heart and soul of the Team our Captain, Mr. Derek Jeter are all on the Disable list. For any other team or franchise this would cripple the hopes and dreams of the fan base, but not this team. Everyone forgets the Yankees still have a great pitching staff.
CC. Sabathia the best lefty pitcher in baseball has the ability and has carried this Team. Followed by Andy Pettitte a crafty lefty that knows what it takes to win big games. Kuroda the best Japanese pitcher since Hideo Nomo. Nova has been Super in the past and not so Super but entering his 3rd full season in baseball he will bring 3 great pitches and experience to the staff. With "the franchise" starting the year on the DL we will have David Phelps as the 5th starter.
If these pitchers pitch as they have in the past and if they win close to the games capable without career years, that will give you roughly about 80 wins. If the Bullpen gives us 15 wins, not asking for much then 95 wins will be enough to win the East again.

Not getting into the starting lineup, the key players will be Kevin Youkilis, Robinson Cano, Ichiro and Nunez. If Wells and Boesch contribute it will be gravy, but not expecting them to be awesome. Dont get me wrong Wells can still hit and Boesch can still be a nice player it will all come down to April this will be a key month if the Yankees get off to a great start they will have an easier time. Upon the return or Granderson and Tex in May we will start seeing Girardi's vision of this lineup.
I know its popular to doubt the Yankees and have pick them to finish last or 5th or 4th, but how many favorites have won it all in the past. How many people picked the Giants to win it all 2 out of the last 4 years and how did they win it all? Pitching..
So you can count out the Yankees and Redsox, while elevating the Bluejays, Rays and O's. I am not ready to burry our Yankees.
MSG to the AMERICAN LEAGUE East, YOU WANT THIS?? Come and get it. EARN IT, THESE YANKEES are not just going to lay down and let you take it.

Out of the box

Now that the Captain is gone for the year and the ghost of playoffs past stayed in the old stadium, lets blow up the line up and start over.
Joe Girardi said the team needs to make adjustments, so I am hear to advocate said adjustments. The season is not over and it can all change with a win on Tuesday. A-Rod is having a bad series and he might not be 100% healthy. That said all they need is one win to turn it around.
Since no one is hitting, lets change the line up 1-9. Career vs Verlander
1. Ichiro Suzuki RF 17-55 with 1 HR and 6 RBI
2. Alex Rodriguez 3B 8-24 with 3 HR and 7 RBI

New Season

The season comes down to 27 games left in the schedule, with the Orioles and the Yankees in a dead tie for first only one team can take the division. That said the team currently in second place has a great chance at beating both of them out for first.
Tampa has 6 games left with the Orioles, 4 games with the Yankees including tonight, 3 games vs the Rangers, 2 vs Boston and 4 vs the White Sox.
Orioles have 6 games left with the Rays, 4 games vs the Yankees, a 6 game west coast trip and 6 games vs the Red Sox.
No one knows what Yankee team will show up, but the Bombers with a record 27 world series titles have 27 games left in the season to attempt to that magic number 28.
We all know it will come down to pitching and situational hitting. No other team in baseball has the pressure the team from the bronx does. Last time the Yankees blew a lead this big and backed into the playoffs they won it all.
Lets hope that is repeated this year.

Mr. 4000?

As a self appointed Jeter apologist, I have always given him the benefit of the doubt. No one expected the Yankee Captain to continue hitting and even live up to the his latest contract. With two years left, on said contract we expected him to retire as a Yankee in 2014.
Despite that he has continued playing at a Jeter level and even though I disagree with the "EXPERTS" of the 4 letter network that are saying its not typical for a player to play well into his 40's and continue to produce. I say take a look at history, Pete Rose who played 24 years (4256), Ty Cobb who played 24 (4189), Hank Aaron who played 23 (3771), Stan Musial who played 22 (3630), Honus Wagner who played 21years (3420) and Carl Yastrzemski who played 23 years (3419), they all produced even pass the age of 40.
He currently has 3251 hits playing his 18th season and is on pace to finish in 11th place by the end of the year. Passing the GREAT Willie Mays. Lets remember Paul Molitor was 39 when he hit .341 and had a total of 225 hits
Lets say for argument sake, he gets 49 hits for the remainder of the year and put him at 3300 and if he plays another 4 years and he averages 150 hits a year, that would put him at 3900 hits.
I would never say its impossible for him to get to 4000 let alone 3900 but if we have learned one thing about Derek Sanderson Jeter is, we could never count him out.
In my humble opinion he will end up in 3rd place between Ty Cobb's 4189 and Hank Aaron 3771.
It will be fun seeing where he ends up and how high he will be on the list.
